Dumpster Rental FAQ
The questions we answer on the phone most often, written out. If yours is not here, call 207-289-5168.
Frequently asked questions
- What size dumpster do you rent?
- One size, a 16 cubic yard roll-off. It measures about 16 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 4 feet high and holds roughly 5 pickup-truck loads. It fits a standard residential driveway.
- How much does a dumpster rental cost in Southern Maine?
- One week is $600 and includes 2 tons of disposal. Weight past 2 tons is billed at the disposal facility rate. Junk removal, hauling, and contractor swap-outs are quoted on the call because labor and load type change the number.
- How do I book?
- Two ways. Call 207-289-5168 any hour and you get the owner, or fill out the request form on the contact page and he calls you back.
- Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
- We set every container on planks, which spreads the load and protects asphalt and pavers. Tell us about soft ground or a new seal coat when you call and we will plan the placement around it.
- Do I need a permit?
- Not for a driveway or other private-property placement. If the container has to sit on a street or in the right of way, the city or town issues the permit. Portland uses a temporary street use permit and Scarborough routes requests through Public Works.
- What can I not put in the container?
- No tires, car batteries, asbestos, paint or solvents, refrigerant-containing appliances, or hazardous and radioactive material. Maine disposal facilities will not accept them.
- How long can I keep it?
- The standard term is one week. Call before the week ends if you need longer and we will extend it or swap the container.
- What areas do you serve?
- Portland, Saco, Scarborough, and the surrounding Cumberland and York County towns across Southern Maine.
